2. Data processed
CANTO XI collects only the data that the user provides voluntarily and navigation data.
To consult the ‘public’ part of the website (that is, the one freely accessible to every user), no provision of personal data is required.
To access reserved content sections of the website, or for any contact with CANTO XI on the part of the user (e.g. sending emails or snail mail to the addresses indicated on the website), the user’s data must be considered acquired and, therefore, processed in full compliance with the current legislation.
The data provided voluntarily by the user might include personal data such as:
first name;
surname;
date of birth;
company affiliation;
role covered;
email address;
any pictures of ID documents uploaded on the website;
data of direct registration to our website (e.g. email and password);
the data of employees, customers, suppliers, etc. that the
user uploads voluntarily on our server (in the sections of processing register, notification systems, etc.).
Browsing data that can be collected might include:
IP addresses;
URI – Uniform Resource Identifier – addresses of the requested resources;
time and method used to formulate requests to the server;
numeric code regarding the status of the response given by the server (success, error, etc.); etc.
Navigation data refer to the operating system and to the user’s IT environment, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. Although this information is not collected to be associated with identified interested parties, by its nature it could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.
3. Purpose of the Processing
CANTO XI processes the personal data that the user has provided on the website in connection with the use of the same. In particular, the user’s personal data may be used for the following purposes:
a) provision of services and functions of the website (such as, for example, name and surname, e-mail address, password for log-in, etc.);
CANTO XI collects and processes the user’s personal data to provide them with all the features of the website such as the possibility to communicate via the website or to choose the ‘remember’ option, so that it is not necessary to provide log-in details at every access.
Warning: we do not recommend using the latter option if the used computer is shared with other people.
b) processing of payment and billing data;
CANTO XI will process the user’s personal data only to facilitate purchases and to process payments carried out through the website. In no way will CANTO XI acquire the user’s bank details as each payment will be made via PayPal.
c) response to any request for technical/legal advice on the part of the user;
d) sending information about our services/updates to the website, for example, via e-mail or snail mail (note: this feature will be activated only if the user gives their explicit consent);
e) storage and protection, on our server, of the collected data, where requested, uploaded on the various sections of the website by the user;
f) storage and protection, on our server, of lists of email addresses or phone numbers uploaded by the user to take advantage of our notification system;
The purposes listed above are subject to the user’s consent (which in some cases must be explicit). Moreover, we also Inform users that CANTO XI uses a tool from a third-party (i.e. analytical, adw, or promotional tools linked to Google) for statistical and marketing purposes only. The data is however managed in fully anonymous form. This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining statistical information not associated with any user identification data regarding the use of the website and to check the website’s proper functioning, and is deleted immediately after processing.
The data might be used to ascertain responsibility in case of hypothetical IT crimes damaging the website.
CANTO XI will not use the data provided for different purposes than those listed above, which the user has accepted, and only within the limits stated from time to time in the additional specific information note supplied for specific services requested by the user.
The user’s data will never be sold or rented by CANTO XI to third parties.
The user is the sole owner of his/her data and can request its modification or cancellation at any time: see section titled “Rights of the interested party”.
4. Retention of personal data
CANTO XI shall retain the user’s information in the terms required by current legislation and, in any case, for as long as necessary to provide the services requested.
In particular, the data provided by the user to access a reserved area or to fill out various contact forms, will be kept as long as its cancellation is not requested, keeping only the data related to basic registry (such as, for example, that related to billing, and therefore: company name, company address, vat number, company contact, and password).
5. Security and Transfer of personal data
The transfer, storage, and processing of user data collected through the website are insured through the appropriate technical measures.
All user information is protected by the password chosen by the user; passwords are not recorded in plain text but are protected by different encryption methods. In addition, the website is provided over HTTPS encrypted connection.
User data is collected, archived, and stored on a secure server protected by a firewall and physically located in Italy, in a controlled access web farm.
Every non-user access takes place under encryption protection.
6. Transfer of data to third parties
CANTO XI will not transfer personal data to third parties. However, CANTO XI will be able to provide user data
to third parties for certain processes such as, for example, providing the user with technical/legal advice following a request on the part of the user. In such cases CANTO XI will be allowed to transmit part of the user’s data to third-party specialists. Such third parties will process the user’s personal data in full compliance with current legislation. User data will not be transferred outside the European union.
Only if CANTO XI will be required to do so by law, will personal data be provided to the competent authorities.

The user has, at any time, full power to exercise the rights provided by the current legislation, including the following:
to receive confirmation of the existence of his/her personal data and request access to the content;
to update, modify, and/or correct his/her personal data;
to request cancellation, transformation into anonymous form, and blocking of the data processed in violation of the law;
to oppose the processing for legitimate reasons;
